A federal tax credit that turns into K-12 scholarships.

The Education Freedom Tax Credit (EFTC) lets individual donors claim a 100% federal tax credit for contributions to a qualified Scholarship Granting Organization. Those dollars become scholarships for K-12 students. DAST partners with SGOs to bring this opportunity to communities nationwide.

What Is the EFTC

A new federal giving mechanism for K-12 education

The Education Freedom Tax Credit was established under 26 U.S.C. §25F (Pub. L. 119-21) as a federal tax credit for individual donors who contribute to a qualified Scholarship Granting Organization (SGO). SGOs administer these contributions and issue scholarships to eligible K-12 students for qualifying expenses like curriculum, tutoring, testing, and enrichment.
